Will Turkey be removed from NATO?

Turkey’s ‘NATO Ex-communication’, Excluded From the Atlantic Alliance? Will Ankara Align With Moscow?

Turkey and RussiaBy Salman Rafi Sheikh  Global Research, Published: December 16, 2017 Region: Middle East & North AfricaRussia and FSUUSA

While still a NATO member, Turkey has drifted away from the alliance to a great extent, indicating the way conflict in Syria has changed the Middle East’s geo-political landscape, and largely continues to. It is particularly the end-game in Syria that has now greatly crystalized which country stands where in the regional geo-political spectrum, and Turkey is certainly not in the US-led Western camp, which means that Turkey is an ally of Russia and will directly or indirectly counter-act any NATO manoeuver against Russia.

In simple words, Turkey’s strengthening relations with Russia mean a full NATO member working in a very close tandem with a country that happens to be the reason for NATO’s very existence in the post-cold war era. That certainly sounds counter-intuitive in terms of what NATO seems to stand for, thanks to Russia’s active and truly anti-terror policy in the Middle East where the organization has not only failed to eradicate terror, but its biggest military power, the US, also stands accused of plotting a coup against Turkey, the second biggest NATO power; hence, the crisis within NATO.

The US and the NATO have clearly sensed that their current position is not comparable to the pre-conflict scenario, which means that they need to re-define their relationships with a number of countries. Ironically, the first on the list happens to be Turkey. And, its first emphatic glimpse game on last Monday when HR McMaster, Donald Trump’s National Security Adviser, described Turkey along with Qatar as two countries responsible for the spread of extremist and radical Islamist ideology.

While he did make a passing reference to Saudia’s past involvement in the spread of radical ideology, he emphasised that Qatar and Turkey were more involved into it, adding further that the core reason for Turkey’s growing problems with the West was largely the rise of the Justice and Development Party, to which president Erdogan belongs, in Turkey and presumably its connection with extremism.

While McMaster didn’t make any reference to Turkey’s growing relations with Russia, he did not hesitate to describe Russia and China, just a few days before his Monday statement, as two “revisionist powers”, encroaching on US allies (read: Turkey) and thus bent upon undermining the (US dominated) international order. When the two statements are read together, McMaster seems to clearly mean that the “revisionist powers” are not only undermining the US dominated order, but also bent upon undoing the gains the US claims to have made in its 17 years of ‘war on terror’ by allying with powers, such as Turkey, which are spreading ‘terror’ in the Middle East.

There is as such a little more than a coincidence that McMaster’s verbal attack on Turkey came just within hours of Erdogan’s meeting Russia’s Putin. This meeting not only greatly underscored the fast growing alliance between the two states but also indicated the potential lift both leaders are in the middle of giving to their relations.

“We see significant prospects for expansion of cooperation in the military-technical sphere. We finalized the credit agreement during today’s work and I hope it will be signed in the soonest possible time,” Putin said after talks with his Turkish counterpart, Erdogan.

Erdogan added that “the relevant agencies of our two countries are expected to complete what needs to be done this week” with regard to Turkey’s purchase of Russia’s S-400 missile system. The purchase of Russian defence system in no small thing within NATO’s strategic culture; for, as it stands and as hinted above, what it potentially means is integration of Russian systems within the ‘NATO territory’, which further means that Russia is now setting its own foot in response to NATO’s own advances towards Russia through Ukraine. Erdogan’s this particualr statement came only few days after he had criticized NATO for interfering in Turkey’s defence deals. The deal, besides it, is also a clear rebuff to the US & NATO’s withdrawal of Patriot air defence batteries from Turkey.

Besides the co-operation in military and technical fields, it is particualr the Syrian end-game that has brought Turkey and Russia as much closer as it has driven a wedge between the Turkey and NATO, whose officials were reported to have said that “No NATO ally currently operates the S-400″, implying that Turkey was perhaps no longer an ally.

Thanks to Russia’s ability and capacity to use its leverage over the Kurds, Turkey is no longer even objecting to a Kurdish participation in the Russia led Syrian National Dialogue. Not only does this badly isolate the US in the region—one again—but also leaves with potentially no effective allies on the ground to influence the Syrian end-game and manage a loose ended military presence in Syria even.

“We have handed the list of those who represent the Kurds to Russia,” said recently Turkey’s foreign minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu.

He sounded fairly positive when asked if Kurdish groups other than the YPG could join a conference on Syria’s future to be organized by Russia. There is, as other reports have indicated, more to it than meets the eye.

Russia and Turkey are already in the middle of negotiating the ways and means of clearing Afrin of the Kurdish militia, YPG. Were this to happen, this will be a major paradigm shift not only in Russia-Turkey bi-lateral relations but also in terms of striking at the heart of American interests in the region. While a new flashpoint may arise out of a possible Russia-Turkish operation in Afrin, what is clearly on the horizon is that this flashpoint may very well turn out to be the last nail in the coffin for Turkey’s status as a full NATO member.

While NATO so far has no precedent of ousting a member, and any such decision on Turkey will require unanimity in the organisation, what is becoming evident is that Turkey might just become the first country to face an ‘ex-communication’ from NATO, which might just be necessary to complete its embrace with Russia and re-define its regional and global position.

Another SIGN of just how close we are to Christ's Return.  Bible Prophecy has long shown that Turkey will never be a member of the EU and will withdraw from NATO as the Bible reveals that Turkey will have a close relationship with Russia in the lead up to mans final conflict and the return of Christ.  So keep watching this development with Turkey as she moves closer in her ties to Russia. Based on Bible Prophecy Turkey will be with Russia and Europe when they invade the Middle East as described in Ezekiel 38.   We fully expect to see Russia become more closely linked to Europe militarily whereby Russia will become a "guard" unto the European Nations according to Ezekiel 38:7.

Also Ezekiel 38:6 says that "Gomer (France), and all his bands; the house of Togarmah (Turkey) of the north quarters, and all his bands: and many people with thee."

So somehow Turkey will be involved with Russia and it's Army and the move into the Middle East.

WHY IS BIBLE TRUTH SO IMPORTANT?

Bible Truth

THE IMPORTANCE OF BIBLE TRUTH

Is Bible Truth important to your Faith and Salvation ie. will you be saved despite what you believe the bible teaches or does it matter what you believe?

Well the word “truth” appears 237 times in the bible, that alone says it must be important!

Therefore it must be important to understand what “truth” is.

A quick scan of the passages using this word “truth” leave us in no doubt that it is not only important, but vital to our salvation.

John 17:3

3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

1 John 5:20

20And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

1 Timothy 2:3-4

3For thisis good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; 4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

Clearly then knowing what is Bible Truth is important and vital, in addition to this we are also warned that some would depart from the “truth”…

1 Timothy 4:1

1Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; 2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; 3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

1 John 4:6

6We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

From these passages it is very clear that we need to know the “truth” about God and His Son as it is taught to us in the Bible.  This means we must learn what this is from the Bible itself.

Don't let your HOPE of LIFE ETERNAL rest with someone else eg. your pastor or minister, YOU owe it to yourself and your family to be fully convinced of what it is you believe to be sure it HOLDS something REAL for you.

We have all been warned by God that there would be many false teachers and Jesus himself has told us that "Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it."  See Matthew 7:14

Sadly when Christ returns to this earth, many will only then realise that they have believed in lies Jeremiah 16:19

"19 O LORD, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come unto thee from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit."

Don't let this be you or your family!

BIBLE TRUTH and true faith must be founded on a fully inspired Bible.

The OFFER of LIFE or DEATH

God's Offer of LIFE or DEATH

“Now what I am commanding you today is not too difficult for you or beyond your reach. It is not up in heaven, so that you have to ask, “Who will ascend into heaven to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?” Nor is it beyond the sea, so that you have to ask, “Who will cross the sea to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?” No, the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart so you may obey it.   See, I set before you today life and prosperity, death and destruction. For I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him… This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the Lord is your life…"  Deuteronomy Chapter 30:12-20

From this passage we see how important it is to each one of us that we seek after God and His Word the Bible to us.

Without this we have no hope of LIFE, but only a future of DEATH.

This Word of God was originally given to the Nation of Israel and later it spread via the Apostles of Christ to the World, that even we today might have this same HOPE of LIFE ETERNAL.

It is UP to YOU then to seek out God’s Word, to KNOW what is the TRUTH of God’s Word so that you and your family might KNOW the way of LIFE ETERNAL and the great HOPE of living in God’s Kingdom on EARTH.

Do not let your HOPE rest upon others and most importantly on what others teach, search it out for yourself because we have been warned that the churches would be astray from God’s word in the last days.

"For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.”   2 Timothy 4:3-4

Too much is at stake for you to not act yourself to seek out the TRUTH.

Christ himself has told us to do this when he said…

But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. Godis a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” John 4:23-24

The Bible Is Our ONLY Guide

The Holy BibleThe Bible provides us with plain Scriptural Teaching for the True Followers of Christ

The statements on this guide represent what we believe is true Bible teaching. The statements are deliberately challenging, asking every reader to compare his own opinions with the plain teaching of Scripture, examining carefully the Bible passages offered as proof. If, as a result, a change of mind and heart is called for, there will be no doubt that the teaching of the Lord, and the book he trusted, must be followed and not what the churches teach.

All Scripture quotations are taken from the New King James (also known as the Revised Authorized) Version of the Bible.

The Great PURPOSE of CHRIST

True Bible Teaching - What the Bible really says about God and His Purpose

The Great PURPOSE of CHRIST

The Great PURPOSE of CHRISTThe Great PURPOSE of CHRIST

Jesus is described as being a man sent by God, the Son of God and Man who spoke the Father’s words. He was sent for a purpose and he declared he came to make a future life possible for all who believed in him. This purpose filled his thoughts throughout his ministry from the very start when John the Baptist pointed to him as “the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world” (John 1:29). We can see what this purpose is when we look at some of Jesus’ sayings.

Born to Die

Towards the end of his ministry we read that Jesus “steadfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem” (Luke 9:51).

He was fully aware that he would die there after he had been scorned and crucified. But this same determination marks his whole life and work, and shows that from the start he had that end in view. He recognized that he was born to that end. The expressions he used would make no sense from anyone else’s lips, but belong to him distinctively.

Jesus began to show to his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day (Matthew 16:21).

“The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life a ransom for many” (Mark 10: 45).

This is the key to his work. He would lay down his life to save us from death.

A Bronze (fleshly) serpent raised on a pole by MosesIn a conversation which reveals how our needs are met in Jesus’ death on the cross, John chapter 3 looks back to an incident in the early days of Israel as they journeyed through the wilderness.

A plague of serpents was sent to punish their disobedience to God, and many of them died. God told Moses to put a bronze serpent on a pole, and that those people who were bitten should look at it. For those who performed this simple act of faith, healing and life would follow.

Jesus’ belief in the Old Testament as God’s word shines out in all he says.

This event is used as a parable of what he would do for all men and women, because they are suffering from sin and its effects – death. A parallel is drawn between the serpent lifted up on a pole, whereby those Israelites could be saved from death by serpent bite, and Jesus’ crucifixion through which mankind as a whole can find everlasting life.

“As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved.” (John 3:14–17).

These are some of the best known and best loved words in the Bible and are precious to Jesus’ followers as being the very heart of the gospel.

God’s love and human need; the given Son who died; the promise that dying mortals might not perish but have everlasting life. We must stress the contrast between perishing and having everlasting life. The one describes our present state: we now have only this life and then we cease to be. Apart from God’s love and the gift of His son, that would be the whole story. But a sequel is now possible, for everlasting life is promised to those who believe God and try to please Him.

Life-Giving Work

God loved the world and gave His Son; and this work of Father and Son is the subject of many sayings of Jesus, showing that in him God was providing for us to share the divine life.

As we continue in John’s Gospel, Jesus further explains his work. He declares that he is like the life giving manna during Israel’s life in the wilderness.

He is the bread from heaven that people might share him and have life.

“As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on me will live because of me” (John 6:57).

He also describes the bread as his flesh, which he will give for the life of the world, indicating that life will become possible for men and women through his own sacrifice.

Of the many statements which show that he would die for humankind’s sake, perhaps none is more clear than when he compares himself to the shepherd who cares for his sheep.

“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives his life for the sheep… Therefore my Father loves me, because I lay down my life that I may take it again” (John 10:11, 17).

Beyond his death he could see a new life. Death on the cross and burial in the tomb was not to be the end; he would be raised from death by the power of the Father. He claimed to be “the resurrection and the life”, and at the tomb of Lazarus he showed what he meant by the ‘resurrection’ by restoring to life a man who had been buried for four days. But Jesus himself was both ‘resurrection’ and ‘life’ because when God raised him from death, He gave him endless life, and power to raise the dead and give them everlasting life.

That Sacrifice Memorialised

Jesus made it very clear that he had a special mission which would culminate in his sacrifice.

Unsurprisingly, the four gospels devote much space to the events that surrounded his trial and death.

The evening before his death he shared with his closest followers the Jewish Passover meal, by which the Jews celebrated the liberation from Egypt under Moses. At this supper he declared that part of the meal, the bread and wine, would now have a new significance for them. They would share the bread and wine henceforth as a means of keeping him in memory.

Throughout the centuries since then, Christian believers have carried this out to remember Jesus’ work.

But why should he set up this rite? No one else has ever done such a thing. The reason is found in his explanation:

The Bread and Wine used to memorialise the life of Christ

“He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of me.” Likewise he also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is shed for you” (Luke 22:19–20).

That was the reason for his death: to provide the means whereby sins may be forgiven.

Purpose Under Trial

This awareness of his high purpose was a driving force throughout Jesus’ mortal life. It serves also to explain the extraordinary self–possession and fortitude he showed throughout his trials.

These were a disgrace to both Jewish and Roman law, in that every rule to safeguard a fair trial was ignored.

False witness, hatred, intimidation; all played a part with one or other of his judges, while the man accused met the ordeal with a resilience and courage which dismayed his opponents and showed his determination to endure it all.

Jesus’ reply to Pontius Pilate shows his confidence that his death was not the end.

“Pilate therefore said to him, “Are you a king then?” Jesus answered, “You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears my voice” (John 18:37).

They are calm words, spoken in such circumstances, which show an invincible faith that his work would go on. His voice was not to be silenced by death and it has been heard through the ages. He was raised on the third day and after forty days ascended to heaven. Soon he will return, to set up the Kingdom of God, and to grant immortality to those who have believed in him.
